Join them; it only takes a minute: Sign up SC CreateService FAILED 1057 The account name is invalid or does not exist, service error or the password is invalid for the account name specified up vote 0 down vote favorite 1 I am trying to install winodws service on remote system which is under same network, using below command from cmd. sc \\11.130.23.105 create "test_service01" binpath= "\11.130.23.105\ServiceLocation\TestWindowService.exe" obj= user password= password123# when try to execute above command I m getting below error. [SC] CreateService FAILED 1057: The account name is invalid or does createservice error 1057 not exist, or the password is invalid for the account name specified. I m verifies that user and passwords are correct. any one can suggest what might be the problem here. The only information that it gives is that the service is not installed when it checks for it.I have tried downloading and installing the 2.0.0 with extra logging, but there was no additional help that I saw in the logging. I'm experiencing a similar problem on Windows NT.I upgraded from 1.2.7 to 2.0.2 (using cwRsync_Server_2.0.2_Installer.exe). I first stopped the rsync service. I did get a dialog informing me of the service password, and I do have a SvcwRsync account, which I don't think I had before (according to the Services applet it was setup to run under the Administrator account). After the install, checking the task manager there was no rsync.exe process running. I tried starting it from the Services applet, and got an error along the lines of the executable not being found.
