problem is probably firmware, but I can't find updated firmware or instructions on how to install it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Respond to this 0 How is the

printer connected? Best way to tell if it is firmware which I doubt is 49.ff09 service error hp laserjet 4700 to disconnect the printer from the computer or network, turn it on and see if it comes to ready. If it 49.4c02 error does, print a test page from the information menu. If that works without error, the issue is probably a bad print job trying to print each time the printer is turned on. Check the printq of http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Scanning-Faxing-and-Copying/49-FF09-Error-on-Digital-sender-9250c/td-p/5074928 all computers that send jobs to the printer. by dmzcompute on Sep 13, 2014 at 7:43pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I've already done that. It's not a print job. I've tried removing the nic card, re-sitting the formatter, everything I can find about this error. by ahp549 on Sep 14, 2014 at 4:28pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 You need to confirm what happens http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/77080 when you remove the jet direct card and turn on the printer with just the power connected. Does the printer come to ready or does it come to the error? Without that information I can not help you. If it comes to the error, then you have a formatter or firmware issue. First I would get a replacement firmware chip to see if that solves the issue. by dmzcompute on Sep 14, 2014 at 5:43pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 The problem turned out to be the formatter. I replaced it and the printer is working fine. Many thanks to Ray at RSPrinterParts for helping me with this. He was very responsive and helpful. by ahp549 on Sep 15, 2014 at 1:38pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Did the replacement formatter come with the firmware flash module. Odds are it did and odds are it is the firmware flash module on your old formatter that is bad and not the formatter itself. Easy to tell if you still have the old formatter with flash chip. Just move the flash chip from the old formatter to the new formatter after removing the chip that came with the new formatter. Now turn on and see if the
the JetDirect firmware and the printers are still getting the same error, it'll be fine for 1/2 day or so, then it'll error out. Any Suggestions, HP's support is not much help Respond to this 1 we had a rogue dhcp server on the network that caused this error. http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/39866 by Anonymous on May 12, 2008 at 6:41am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 On this printer you do not replace the firmware, just update it from the hp site. If you have updated the firmware and still have the issue you need to http://www.fixya.com/support/t898138-49_ff09_service_error narrow down what application is being used when the error occurs. Once you know this then you have to contact the application manufactuer and see if they have a fix for the issue. I have seen this with a few foreign language character programs and service error the others I have seen it with the firmware upgrade worked. It could also be as simple as one document being used as a template which is corrupt and causes the error. by dmzcompute on Jul 28, 2006 at 11:19am Add comment Please sign in to comment No application is being used at the time of the error, They are sitting Idle, No Jobs being printed and no jobs in the que. - ihornsby 0 OK lets see if we can get some correct info. The 4250N has an embedded ff09 service error network card and I could be wrong but I do not know of any firmware upgrade for it so are we talking about the 4250N or the 4200. Just as you said you replaced the firmware, again that is upgraded via a download procedure. If in fact it is a 4250N what happens if you go into entrance menu by pressing the check mark after the power has been turned on and it starts the memory count. You then scroll down and choose to disable the embedded network card. Now leave the printer on and see if it gives the same error. If it doesnot I would lean towards issues with your network. If it still gives the error it has to be firmware or the formatter. Also make sure the formatter is for the correctg model. by dmzcompute on Jul 28, 2006 at 3:27pm Add comment Please sign in to comment This is a 4250N Printer, The firmware upgrade was done by download, we replaced the Formatter and Memory. I unplugged the printer from the network and they do not get the error. We are using a Novell network with Cisco switchs, any suggestions on what I could check on the network, This is only happening with the 4250N printers, we also use 5si, 8000, 8250, 4000, 4100, &5500 printers. Thanks - Anonymous 0 Novell network means you are probably using a print server. Lets take it out of the picture. I assume most of the computers are windows xp or 2000. If so try to load one of the printers local to the each computer using TCP/IP. Use the

Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Pinterest Share by Email × Question about HP LaserJet 2430n Printer 2 Answers 49.FF09 SERVICE ERROR My HP Laserjet 2430dtn is connected locally to my workstation. Whenever I boot up in the morning, the printer (on all the time) has recently begun displaying the 49.FF09 SERVICE ERROR. I have to reboot the printer a couple times a day because of this error, though the only time I can guarantee it comes up is when I reboot my wkstn. I have replace the Q6511A cartridge, with no effect. Any ideas? My 2430tn printer recently started showing 49.FF09 SERVICE ERROR. I tried replacing the cartridge and turning it off and back on, but that has not helped. Please let me know what i should do. This is my work printer and we have misplaced the user manual.
