This is quite a common fault with http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/48419 this Printer and is easy to repair.Grab the handle on the front of the Printer and open the paper feed assembly. Open the lid. Remove the one screw on the top of the right hand side cover and remove the cover.Facing the right side of the Printer, about half way along and near the bottom of the pinter, you will see the firmware Dimm sticking out of the http://www.blogarama.com/en/technology-blogs/289542-printer-repair-tips-home-blog/4343286-oki-c5300-service-call-020fatal-error metal shield. This is the part you need to replace.Just release the clips either side of the Dimm and it will pop out.One thing you need to know is that there are two versions of logic Board and each uses a different Dimm. If you look through the holes in the metal shield, somewhere on the Board you will see SPA or OWL printed on the Board. These are the names of the two versions. It's not too important what version of main logic Board you have in your Printer because the part numbers are printed on the Dimm. You will see two sets of eight digit numbers. The part Number for the firmware Dimm you require is the eight digit Number that is inside brackets. For your convenience, here are the part numbers for the two different firmware DIMMS:ROM Dimm for SPA PWB 42010613ROM Dimm for OWL PWB 42010602*There are affiliate links in this post.* Related ArticlesLG V20 may not be so modular, photo s…Ears the News: August 27, 2016 Editio…Tony Romo – Broken Bone in Back…George W. status monitor may read https://www.scribd.com/doc/74360615/Reset-Drum-Fuser-Transfer-on-C5300-C5100-Ect "Fatal Error". This simply means a problem has occurred requiring action to clear. A "Fatal Error" does not mean your printer will "die". Fatal Error explanations are not service error usually found in the User's Guide or Handy Reference Guide. RECOMMENDED NEXT STEP: First, try turning off your printer then turning it back on. If this does not clear the message or remedy the service error 02 problem, check to see if your printer is on a power strip (or not plugged directly into the wall). For testing purposes, be sure the printer is plugged directly into the wall. Often, the issue is power-related. Second, if the issue persists after this, write down the message (including the 3-digit error code number) and email us at "support@okidata.com" or call Oki Data Customer Support (1-800-654-3282) for assistance. NOTE: If you see a series of letters and numbers(scrolling across the display) after the 3-digit error code, be sure to write these down also and report them when call or emailing Customer Support.
