It only seems to be happening at one of our buildings, and only when it's plugged into the network. Has anyone encountered this error before and come up with an explanation and/or a solution? You may want to disconnect this from your network and connect directly to a PC to do some test prints. Case 4: Hi all, we spent nearly 3 days trying to find a fix for the 49.FF04 service error. After endless searches and hours of troubleshooting, we found the problem. We are college and have over 300 printers. The problem started on Monday with 3 printers, and by Wednesday it was up to 15. They were numerous types of HP printers. In trying to find a fix, we took one
on the control panel.49.XXXXerrors, including49.FF04,49.FF07,49.FF08, and49.FF09could be hardware or software errors. The error could be caused by third-party memory, improperly installed or third-party EIO devices or a specific print job and/or software application. Determine if the error is software or hardware by resending any jobs in progress, sending a different job from another software application, or changing the size of the current job. If the error is still present with other applications or jobs, continue with the troubleshooting steps in the next section. Troubleshooting steps Verify that the formatter light is blinking or steady. If the formatter is blinking, it is functioning properly and probably does not need to be replaced. If the formatter light is not blinking, proceed to Step 2. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord. Remove the HP Jetdirect card, third-party device, hard disk, parallel cable, or IFR cable from the formatter if one is installed. If the error continues with accessories removed from the formatter, perform a cold reset on the printer. Ensure the HP Jetdirect card is not in the printer during a cold reset or the card settings will be changed back to default settings. To perform a cold reset, do the following: Turn on the printer. Watch the control panel. When the memory starts counting, press and hold the green(Select) button. Continue holding the green check button until the Ready, Data, and Attention lights flash once, and then stay on steady. Release the check button when the Ready, Data, and Attention light are on steady. The control panel will displaySELECT LANGUAGE. Press(Down Arrow) button once. The control panel will displayCOLD RESET. Press(Select). The printer will perform a cold reset and then continue its power-on sequence. If the printer comes up to ready, print a Configuration page. If a49error occurs from printing internal pages, continue on to the next step. Turn the printer off and unplug the power cord. Remove the eight screws around th
