It only seems to be happening at one of our buildings, and only when it's plugged into the network. Has anyone encountered this error before and come up with an

49 Ff04 Service Error Hp 4600
is not much help Respond to this 1 we had a rogue dhcp hp 4100 49 ff04 service error server on the network that caused this error. by Anonymous on May 12, 2008 at 6:41am Add comment Please sign in hp p3015 firmware to comment 0 On this printer you do not replace the firmware, just update it from the hp site. If you have updated the firmware and still have the issue you need to narrow https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/28049620/49-FF04-Printer-Error.html down what application is being used when the error occurs. Once you know this then you have to contact the application manufactuer and see if they have a fix for the issue. I have seen this with a few foreign language character programs and the others I have seen it with the firmware upgrade worked. It could also be as simple as one document being used as a template http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/39866 which is corrupt and causes the error. by dmzcompute on Jul 28, 2006 at 11:19am Add comment Please sign in to comment No application is being used at the time of the error, They are sitting Idle, No Jobs being printed and no jobs in the que. - ihornsby 0 OK lets see if we can get some correct info. The 4250N has an embedded network card and I could be wrong but I do not know of any firmware upgrade for it so are we talking about the 4250N or the 4200. Just as you said you replaced the firmware, again that is upgraded via a download procedure. If in fact it is a 4250N what happens if you go into entrance menu by pressing the check mark after the power has been turned on and it starts the memory count. You then scroll down and choose to disable the embedded network card. Now leave the printer on and see if it gives the same error. If it doesnot I would lean towards issues with your network. If it still gives the error it has to be firmware or the formatter. Also make sure the formatter is for the correctg model. by dmzcomp

Reseat everything on the formatter.3. Cold reset the printer. Without any networking cards attached to the formatter.4. Try booting up the unit without the network card. by Anonymous on May 28, 2007 at 2:18am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Hi, try this: when the service error memory count start Press and Hold the "Menu" button Release the "Menu" button when all 3 LEDs are illuminated Press the < button The display will now show "Initialize disks" Press the green "Check" button to start the process. I don't see 'initializing' come up. When you say "Press the < button" which button do you mean? The one on the left of the check (tick) button? If so, nothing happens when I press it. - lesley.g This fix also applies to the HP 4650DN Model, Also note that the HDD or CF card does not have to be removed to preserve data as someone mentioned in this topic. Old jobs came thr
EIO card, the firmware DIMM, or the formatter. I have found it to be a difficult error to pin down. Since you recently purchased it, it should still be under warranty. You may want to disconnect this from your network and connect directly to a PC to do some test prints. If it works ok that way, then there is a software conflict of some kind. The last time I ran into this, the company I work for ended up replacing our customer's 4250N with a 4250 and a JetDirect card. That solved their problem. Again: You should be under warranty, so call HP or your local authorized warranty center and they should take care of you. Case 2: On the third call to HP support I got a savvy lady who immediately corrected our '49' errors. This may or may not apply to you if I am to assume you are on a Windows system, since we are all Mac here. The simple solution for us was to turn off the RAM disk on the printer. That's it. No more errors for us. Hope that helps. Note: to switch off the RAM DISK - in the Printer control panel, select menu> Configuration>System Setup submenu of the Configure Device menu on the control panel. Case 3: I recently purchased the 4250 and found that printing large documents with graphics required more memory. Added memory, and when I did the printer would go through all the diagnostics and come up in the ready mode. Upon reading the response to disable the RAM Disk - I tried it, and now my 49 FF04 Service Error is gone (I hope for good). Why would adding memory cause a conflict with the RAM disk? Case 4: Hi all, we spent nearly 3 days trying to find a fix for the 49.FF04 service error. After endless searches and hours of troubleshooting, we found the problem. We are college and have over 300 printers. The problem started on Monday with 3 printers, and by Wednesday it was up to 15. They were numerous types of HP printers. In trying to find a fix, we took one of the printers and isolated it to a hub. I connect a computer to that hub and then installed Wire Shark (free sniffer). We watched the packets being sent. Right before the printer would die, we noticed that a DHCP NAK packet had been sent. From within Wire Shark, we were able to see that the packet came from a personal router that had been plugged into our network. The router was trying to hand out DHCP, this somehow killed the printers. We removed the router from the network and our problem was solved. Case 5: In the technical support of the new firmware of HP4250/HP4350 usually has solution for problem 49xx Case 6: A critical firmware error has occurred that caused the processor on the formatter to abort the operatio
