The ironic thing is, there is no password. Steps are: Right click on the Service in the Services mmc Click Properties Click on the Log On tab The password fields will appear to have entries in them... Blank out both Password fields Click "OK" This should re-grant access to the service and it should start up again. Weird? NOTE: if the problem comes back after a few hours or days, then you probably have a group policy which is overriding your settings and it's coming and taking the right away again. share|improve this answer edited Mar 20 '15 at 11:39 answered Dec 13 '13 at 15:12 JLo 1,40011021 3 This answer worked for me. Blanked them out -- then said the service had the appropriate rights, then all dependent services were able to start. –tresstylez Feb 10 '14 at 19:11

An error 1069. (The service sql server did not start due to a logon failure) occurred while performing this service operation on the MSSQLServer Services. However, given its specific use, changing the password should be 1069 sql server coordinated with making the change for the service also. Then, when I came in this morning, nothing works. My services won't load on my web app. When I try to get to Manager or my Services Directory I get the following message: "The remote device or resource won't accept the connection." When I try to start the ArcGIS Server service I get the following message: "Error 1069: The service did not start due to a logon failure."Does anybody know what's going on here? Thanks,JustinOutcomesVisibility: ArcGIS for Server13737 ViewsLast modified on Jul 23, 2012 9:17 AMTags:serverContent tagged with serverenterprise_gisContent tagged with enterprise_gisThis content has been marked as final. After reading it and talking to our sys admin, I think that we've got an issue with group policy, and that the right to log on as a service is being revoked for the arcgis user account. I've got a ticket in with our IT department, and a ticket in with ESRI. If I come up with a solution, I'll post it here.On a side note, we discovered that if we add the arcgis user account to the administrators group, the ArcGIS Server service starts up with no problem. Unfortunately, IT won't allow us to keep the arcgis user in the administrators group. If you know or can think of any workaround, I'd be happy to hear it.Like • Show 0 Likes0 Actions geograf07 Mar 5, 2014 11:57 PMI had exactly the same error message. I discovered that I had different pw:s on my arcgis account andthe ArcGis Server service. Setting the same password on my service as my arcgis acoountsolved my problem. Now my ArcGis Server service is up and running./
