You need SQL Server 2008 R2 to be able to restore that backup. 10.0 is 2008. 10.5 is 2008 R2.Tibor Karaszi, SQL Server MVP | web | blog Proposed as answer by PrinceLucifer Thursday, March 01, 2012 5:48 PM Marked as answer by Brijesh Shah Friday, March 02, 2012 4:58 AM Thursday, March 01, 2012 12:32 PM Reply | Quote Moderator All replies 0 Sign in to vote You are trying to restore a backup from SQL Server 2008 R2 to SQL Server 2008. This is not supported. You will need to restore your database on an instance of SQL Server 2005, 2008 or 2008 R2 first, then back it up from there, then restore the new backup on SQL Server 2012. Microsoft explains this here. share|improve this answer edited Feb 5 at 12:08 answered Apr 3 '13 at 13:29 Aaron Bertrand 165k18263320 Thanks, I will check. –user2053420 Apr 3 '13 at 15:07 4 @Johnny_D No. Download an eval (here's a link for 2
