Error 602, Severity 21, State 50.Since we now believe the problem is because we are cutting the databases with SQL 2005 to be used with MSDE, we are attempting to revert to SQL 2000 since we do not know how to create the db to be compatible with MSDE.I would love to hear more from you regard

It's just not possible - no trick, no workaround, no tool - just cannot be done. –marc_s Nov 13 '12 at 10:09 You will need to (1) create that new database in SQL Server 2000, (2) script out all database objects to SQL scripts in your 2008 database, (3) run those scripts in your 2000 version, and (4) also move the data using scripts or a SQL Data Diff tool like Red-Gate SQL Data Compare from the SQL Server 2008 to 2000. –marc_s Nov 13 '12 at 10:18 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote accepted From the documentation on the (I believe depreciated, but used in SQL Server 2000) sp_attach_db stored proc: A database created by a more recent version of SQL Server cannot be attached in earlier versions. Jul 02, 2008 09:38 PM|Jian Kang - MSFT|LINK Hi, Based on the exception, it seems that you have created databases on SQL Server 2005 and tried to attach them with Enterprise Manager on SQL Server 2000. As far as I know, this isn't possible; SQL Server is notcompatible with later editions. If you want to move the databases which were created on SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2000, you may use the "SQL Server Import and Export Wizard" to script out the table, view and stored procedure objects (assuming you don’t use any SQL Server 2005 features) and recreate them in SQL Server 2000, then create a "Snapshot Replication" between SQL Server 2005 instance and SQL Server 2000 instance to replicate the database data. Hope this helps. Jian Kang Microsoft Online Community Support Please remember to mark
