I select the server from the drop down list and ado error code 0x80004005 put in the username and password for the local admin account. I am able to remote to the server using this account. For the database field I have tried to enter the database name and the path to the .mdf for this database. I get the same error either way. Login failed. Solved Easyconfig 8 fails and ODBC Drivers error'8004005' Posted on 1998-07-25 Oracle Database 1 Verified Solution 1 Comment 1,026 http://stackoverflow.com/questions/29852503/attempting-to-connect-to-sql-server-through-crystal-reports Views Last Modified: 2010-08-05 Hi, I am having a Windows NT server with Personal Oracle 8 running on it. On the same machine I have Visual Interdev and Crystal report installed. The web server(IIS) also resides on the same NT machine. 1. My First problem is that I am unable to run Oracle Net8 EasyConfig. Whenever I starts the same, I get a Dr. https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/10066941/Easyconfig-8-fails-and-ODBC-Drivers-error'8004005'.html Watson for Windows NT error and the application closes. I reinstalled Oracle, but the problem was not solved. 2.The second problem follows: With Oracle 8 odbc driver if I create a DSN it works fine with the ODBC test.Since I am having Personal Oracle in the same machine, while creating the DSN I have kept the Service name blank. But when I use that DSN to make a project on Visual Interdev and try to acces those pages(which initiates data connection ), I am getting an error" Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error'8004005'[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data Source name not found and no default driver specified". Sometimes I get an error against that same '800045':"error, Unable to create file buffer". I have found that Pesonal Oracle8 odbc does not support userid@connect_string format. Can that be a problem? Because most Microsoft products probably creates the connection string in that format, while connecting to databases. Another astonising thing is that ,I am able to connect to the same database from remote machine using Oracle 7.3 odbc driver and Visual Interdev is working fine. The similar problem I am facing
