Everything is working great thanks to my UPS consultant that helped us (For FREE - I might add). Everything included the keyed import "was" working great yesterday, until the end of the day.Now intermittently, I get this error when trying to pull from/write back to our worldship db (SQL 2012), I also http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1708366-2799-1.aspx get this in the ODBC settings when trying to connect/test password: Connection Failed:SQLState :'01000'SQL server error:'11001'[Microsoft] [ODBC Sql server driver] [TCP/IP sockets]ConnectionOpen (connect()).Connection Failed:SQLState :'08001'SQL server Error: 6[Microsoft] [ODBC SQL server driver] [TCP/IP Sockets]Specified SQL server not found. Our New workstations are a mix of Win 7 and win 8.1, the SQL box is SQL 2012, and server 08 R2 is where the worldship db resides. I have 3 UPS machines here in our main site, and 2 down in our branch office. The ones in the branch office are the ones getting the error. We are connected via a 4.5mb/ bonded t-1 tunnel MPLS connection with very little lag.Thoughts? I have read in some older posts it has something to do with TCP/IP sockets timing out, but nothing to do with SQL 2012. I don't want to start making cross my fingers moves on a production SQL box. It also runs our ERP software Epicor P21.Thanks for the help,Trent Greenawalt - IT ManagerAnderson Pump & Process - Industrial Distributor of Fluid Process EquipmentBrookfield, WI 53045www.aaaco.comTrentg@aaaco.com Post #1708366 trentgtrentg Posted Tuesday, August 4, 2015 9:38 AM Grasshopper Group: General Forum Members Last Login: Friday, August 7, 2015 11:23 AM Poi

We have an Access database that we use to run queries on a SQL database hosted on our server. We are using SQL Server 2008 R2. When setting up the User DSN in ODBC Administrator these are the settings being used: Name: Name Description: Description Server: Server\Database cannot connect to Using SQL Authentication Client Configuration Settings are set to connect via TCP/IP Connect to SQL Server to obtain default settings for the additional configuration options is checked. Login ID: Username Password: Password We are using SQL authentication because the user is not connected to the domain. TCP/IP has been enabled from within SQL Server Configuration Manager and the Client Configuration. Firewalls between the computer and server have been disabled during testing with no luck. I've tried searching Google but I have been unable to find a solution that works for us. I appreciate your help! Edit: Here is the full error message Connection failed: SQLState: '01000' SQL Server Error: 11001 [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets]ConnectionOpen (Connect()). In Alias click Add --> TCP/IP --> Type ServerNameyou connect using the servername"If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce would today cost $100, get a million miles per gallon, and explode once a year, killing everyone inside. There's already a protocol config, with that name (WINSERVER), to choose another one. I tried wih each one of 'em separately and still doens't work. Thanks a lot.....
