Submit Posted by Microsoft on 11/18/2011 at 1:13 PM Hi Anthony, let me know if you are still seeing this issue.thanks,Robert Posted by Anthony Tyler on 1/25/2011 at 11:41 AM I extracted the files on a physical machine useing winzip and Roxio. Then I copied he files to the sql server 2008 installation errors server (which already had SQL 2008 installed). I ran the install from the physical hard drive.I continue to get the error. Posted by Microsoft on 1/23/2011 at 9:33 PM Anthony, here is a workaround that another user that hit this tried with success. You are correct we believe, this has something to do with the environment that the ISO is decompressed/mounted, we have been unable to determine a root cause however."mounting the ISO on my laptop (the Virtual PC host box) and extracting the setup files... then copying the setup files onto the C drive in the VHD... then running the setup off those setup files in the C drive of the VHD... that solved the problem." Posted by Anthony Tyler on 1/10/2011 at 7:21 AM I have downloaded and retried and continue t have the same error. Is there another download site? Could it be that I am using WinZip to unpack the ISO, I did try to use Roxio to create a DVD and I got the same problem. Posted by Microsoft on 1/7/2011 at 8:40 AM Hi Anthony. This error is indicitive of a corrupted install media package (Specifically in your case C:\InstallPoint\SQL2008R2\x64\setup\sql_engine_core_shared_msi\sql_engine_core_shared.msi)However, I see you have downloaded to your install point twice, so I hesitate to ask you to 'try it again', however this has resolved this issue in the past... This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2337" When I click on more details, It shows the source of the error is file called setup.rll The installation fails at the "Installation Progress" level which is the second last step of the of the installation steps I have tried researching and some sites suggest that I go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\120\Setup Bootstrap\SQLServer2014 and rename the setup.rll file. But when I navigate to this location The Setup Bootstrap does not contain the SQLServer2014 folder. The strange thing is that I was able to install SQL Server on another 2 other machines. I just dont know what is wrong with my machine. Thank you in advance for your brilliant replies. sql-server share|improve this question asked Jul 8 at 4:06 Isaiah 342 add a comment| active oldest votes Know someone who can answer?
