Tcp Error Code 10061 Target Machine Actively Refused
SQL Server Management Studio is now giving me AND ONLY ME the "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it." message. We did a little research, followed all of the advice we found online, and all of our settings seemed right. Out of desparation, we added the port that IP/All displayed in the server registration and...it worked. Now, I thought the the SQL Browser (or Agent, I forget) tcp error code 10061 no connection could be made provided the port to which a process that was connecting needed to connect. No one changed any Sql Server or any other settings for that matter any time recently. Can someone shed some light on this for me? connect SQLTEST instance of SQL Server and got below error This is very common error and can be caused due to many reasons. The way I solved it https://debugmode.net/2011/02/19/microsoft-sql-server-error-10061/ 1. Go to Start 2. Type Run 3. Type Services.msc 4. Then locate for SQL Server instance you are trying to connect. In my case this is SQL TEST. Right click http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13501528/connection-failed-sqlstate-01000-sql-server-error-10061 and select Properties 5. In Properties Dialog box go to Log On tab Now if you have recently changed the login pass word of the system. Make sure for that sql server particular account you have changed password here also. Better option would be make Log on as Local System account 6. Navigate to General tab and change the Startup type to Automatic and Start the service 7. Now try to connect SQL Server for that particular instance. You should successfully able to connect. It was working when SQL Server was on my computer but now i'm trying to connect to a server So when I create the DSN file with access I chose SQL-Server driver ( I have also tried with SQL-Server native 10.0 ) I enter the server name that I copied from SQL Management Studio so there's no typo there I chose the NT authentication Then I have this error In the properties, I tried with TCP/IP with the default port 1433 and I also tried with the name pipes I made sure that the checkbox to allow remote connection is checked If I try to connect with management studio I got this error I can see the server when I browse on the network I'm trying this troubleshotting but i'm stuck with the telnet command. It says Could not open connection to host on 1433 I also tried with no port and i got the same error on port 23 Any ideas? The error you get in Access is obscure by default, but the line item in the error log might reveal more information both in the message text and in the message state. If you get a particular state number you might check this reference: sqlblog.com/blogs/aaron_bertrand/archive/2011/01/14/… –Aaron Bertrand Nov 21 '12 at 20:46 Is it possible that I don't see any error? –Marc Nov 21 '12 at 20:53 Yes, but that would only happen if your connection string is no
