As I understand it, the SQL command is 'inline' in the code of your application. Is that correct? You do not have to have a stored procedure, but the TRY/CATCH code has to be in the same batch of code that raises the error. That means that all of this would be in the 'inline' code. Trap or Catch Deadlock Errors so that you can re-run the transaction that is chosen as the Deadlock Victim by the SQL Server database engine. Find out what is causing your Deadlock Events. You can do this in one of two ways, either run a SQL Server Profiler Trace to catch and record the Deadlock Event or you can enable some SQL Server Trace Flags that will rec
