The above mentioned resolution was work around and now its been permanently fixed by Modifying hosts file for the problem server to have static entry to their domain controllers. I am not sure on what was the actual issue.ThanksThanks Marked as answer by Vicky Winner Wednesday, March 17, 2010 3:54 AM Wednesday, March 17, 2010 3:53 AM Reply | Quote All replies 0 Sign in to vote That error code, 0x80090311, is SEC_E_NO_AUTHENTICATING_AUT

The server memory settings were as default (min 0 max 2000GB) Connections from 8 websites and services - the services frequently checking for new tasks 8 databases approx 1GB to 5GB each Recently upgraded from SQL 2000 on Windows 2003 Issue: Recently got all the databases transferred over, and at times microsoft sql server of heavy load overnight - especially when running CHECKDB - the server will stop allowing new connections with error messages detailed below. SQL Backups continued to work during this time. Rebooting the server gets us back up again. I can work on moving jobs around and performance tuning to try and avoid overload/usage peaks, but the server will only get busier over time. The services are using resource/connection pooling, and the load overnight is mostly index rebuilds, archiving & checkdb Question: So, is there a way to handle the 'overload/wont accept new connections' gracefully or prevent it from happening? Does anyone have a handle on what might be happening here? If the server gets overloaded and wont accept new connections, is the only solution to reboot? The administrative user on the server could login to Dynamics SL but the non-admin users received an error message SQL Server Error 258: Unable to complete login due to timeout. We tested changing access rights in SQL for the non-admin users and added the non-admin users to the local administrator group on the Terminal Server. No change. We rebooted the Terminal Server and the SQL Server. No change. I read a blog post about the TCP/IP Listener becoming hung up and decided to disable and enable the TPC/IP protocol for SQL Server. Solution: Disable TCP/IP via SQL Configuration Manager. Reboot the SQL Server and enable TCP/IP. Have the user login to Dynamics SL. Issue Resolved! Go figure. I hope this saves you some brain cycles if you encounter a similar issue.
