On my PC, I have Windows 7 Ultimate with SQL 2000 and on my laptop I have Windows 7 Enterprise sql server RC1. The laptop is working 100% and it used to work fine on my PC. The problems on my PC started either after loading SQL's SP4 or after doing Windows Updates... not exactly sure. The problem that I get is the one mentioned above when I try to create a new Database Diagram, try to create a new table in sql server if no existing is selected, etc. Any ideas? Friday, November 13, 2009 11:46 AM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote Hi, I suspect that the SQL Server 2000 may be not compatible with Windows 7, please try to run this application with “Compatibility Mode”: 1. Right click on the program's shortcut or executable file and select Properties. 2. Switch to the Compatibility tab. 3. Check the “Run this program in compatibility mode for” box. 4. Click on the drop down menu arrow and select which version of Windows the program was made for and click OK. If the issue persists, considering this issue is related to SQL server, it is recommended that you post a thread to our MSDN SQL Server Forum for help. Hope this issue will be resolved soon. Getting the error "MMC has detected an error in snap-in"? ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★ April 4, 2007 by SBS Bloggers // 1 Comments Share 0 0 [Today's tip comes to us from Damian Leibaschoff] After you install Windows 2003 Service Pack 2 or the SBS 2003 R2 Technologies, you might start seeing some MMC snap-insdisplaying an error similar to this: The source of the problem is that the snap-in is not fully compatible with MMC 3.0, and you most likely have already realized that both Windows 2003 Service Pack 2and the SBS 2003 R2 Technologies install MMC 3.0. These are some of the components that you might encounter this problem with: Health Monitor MMC Solution: Choose "Continue running and ignore errors with this snap-in for the rest of the session" ISA 2004 Solution: Install ISA 2004 SP2 and KB930414 POP3 Connector Solution: Install KB921096 Group Policy Editor Tool Solution: Solved in Windows 2003 SP2. See KB915797 SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services Solution: Choose "Continue running and ignore errors with this snap-in for the rest of the session". See KB915091 Regards, The SBS Bloggers team.
