Sql Server Login Failed For User 18456
did not check my emails for three days and when I returned, I found six different emails sql server windows authentication login failed for user 18456 from 4 different people asking for the same problem. When they attempted to login using their application to SQL Server they faced following error:Login failed for user 'username'. The https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/48ee6a1b-9aad-48a6-90e4-b8f4b93d0107/error-18452-not-associated-with-a-trusted-sql-server-connection?forum=sqlsecurity user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18452)This is quite a common error and can happen when incorrect username is communicated to SQL Server. The fix is to provide correct username. This can also happen if you are attempting to login to SQL Server with SQL Username but it is http://blog.sqlauthority.com/2014/01/17/sql-server-fix-login-failed-for-user-username-the-user-is-not-associated-with-a-trusted-sql-server-connection-microsoft-sql-server-error-18452/ only configured to connect to Windows Login. You can quickly fix this error by following steps listed below. Select SQL Server and Windows Authentication Mode. You should be able to login with your SQL Server username. If you are not able to login with your SQL Server username after following above steps, it is quite possible your username is incorrect, please check again.Reference: Pinal Dave (http://blog.sqlauthority.com) Tags: SQL Error Messages511Related Articles SQL SERVER - Unable to cast object of type ‘System.DBNull' to type ‘System.String'. The IP is of my local machine http://support.esri.com/technical-article/000010453 and SQL Server is installed on the local box as well. However, whenever I try to connect to the server it gave me following strange error.Cannot connect to 127.0.0.1. Login sql server failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18452) The reason was indeed strange as I was trying to connect from local box to local box and it said my login was from an untrusted domain. As my system is not part of any domain, this was really confusing to login failed for me. Another thing was that I have been always able to connect always using 127.0.0.1 to SQL Server and this was a bit strange to me. I started to think what did I change since it last time I connected to SQL Server. Suddenly I remembered that I had modified my computer's host file for some other purpose.Solution:I opened my host file and immediately added entry like 127.0.0.1 localhost. Once I added it I was able to reconnect to SQL Server as usual. The location of the host file is C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. You will find file with the name hosts in it, make sure to open it with notepad. If you are part of a domain and your organization is using active directory, make sure that your account is added properly to active directory as well have proper security permissions to execute the task.Reference : Pinal Dave (http://blog.SQLAuthority.com) Tags: SQL Error Messages1722Related Articles SQL SERVER - FIX - ERROR : Msg 3201, Level 16 Cannot open backup device.Operating system error 3 (The system cannot find the path specified.) Not associated with a trusted sql server connection Error Message When starting an ArcSDE service using an SDE schema, one of the following SQL Server #18452 error messages may be returned: "Login Failed. Not associated with a trusted sql server connection.""Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication." Cause SQL Server has been configured to use only Windows accounts for connecting to the database. When creating an SDE-schema geodatabase, the ArcSDE Post Installation wizard creates a SQL Server login for the SDE user.Setting SQL Server to only accept Windows-authenticated logins does not prevent SQL Server logins from being created, only from being used. When the ArcSDE service created by the Post Installation wizard starts, it attempts to connect to the database with a SQL Server login, SDE. This fails because SQL Server logins are not accepted. In order to install ArcSDE using an SDE schema, SQL Server has to be set as using Mixed Authentication Mode (Windows accounts or SQL Server accounts). Solution or Workaround To resolve this issue, reconfigure SQL Server's authentication mode.SQL Server 2005 or 2008: ▪ Go to Start > Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2005(8) > SQL Server Management Studio. ▪ In the Object Explorer, right-click the Server and select Properties.▪ In the Server Properties dialog box select the Security page. ▪ Under Server authentication, select SQL Server and Windows Authentication Mode. The server must be restarted before this will take effect.SQL Server 2000: ▪ Go to Start > Programs > Microsoft SQL Server > Enterprise Manager. ▪ Right-click the Server name.▪ Select Properties > Security. ▪ Under Authentication, select SQL Server and Windows. The server must be restarted before this will take effect. Created: 5/5/2016 Last Modified: 5/5/2016 Article ID: 000010453 Software: ArcSDE 10, 9.0, 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, 9.3.1 Is
