Login: Sunday, May 8, 2016 9:46 PM Points: 186, Visits: 603 Hi,I have an access application whose tables linked to SQL Server 2005. Last month also, it worked well. but this month, I odbc timeout access 2013 have an problem while executing one query. it is showing the below error_ODBC --call failed.[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Timeout expired (#0)I just some analysis and found that there is a problem with the table which has 3000 records. This error is coming when we try to filter the column InvYear =2009. It is working fine for the filter InvYear=2008 and all others. It is only giving the sql server connection timeout expired pre-login handshake problem for 2009. Why it is giving the above error only for that condition. Last month also this query worked well. Is there any thing I need to check for the data. Any wrong data like NULLs or empty spaces causes this problem?I am attaching screen shot of the table and error to get an Idea to you. Thank You Post Attachments error.JPG (48 views, 57.47 KB) Post #691012 VRTVRT Posted Tuesday, April 7, 2009 6:59 AM SSC-Enthusiastic Group: General Forum Members Last Login: Sunday, May 8, 2016 9:46 PM Points: 186, Visits: 603 Please help out. The data is also around 150000 records. But this worked of February month, but not working for March month. I didn't exactly understand what is exactly the problem. Please give any suggession to fix this. I am not well experienced in Databases. But it is very urgent as user is waiting for the report to take? Thank You Post #691942 ~paul hewitt~paul hewitt Posted Wednesday, April 8, 2009 4

The query timeout is the maximum time (in milliseconds) the ODBC driver will wait for a query to finish. After this time, the driver will throw an exception that can be seen from the ODBC client or in the VDP server logs: ERROR com.denodo.vdb.vdbinterface.server.odbc.ODBCBackend - Error: Error executing query. Total time 900.0 seconds. QUERY [PROJECTION] [QUERY_TIMEOUT] VIEW [PROJECTION] [PROCESSING] VIEW [JOIN] [QUERY_TIMEOUT] The complete error message will depend on the view being queried. The default query timeout value is 900000 milliseconds. It is possible to explicitly specify the query timeout configuration in an ODBC DSN data source. You may specify any connection parameters at the end of the Database field of the ODBC DSN. For example, if you are connecting to the xyzdatabase and you want

How to Change Query Timeout Value for MS Access SQL Queries By default, query timeout value in MS Access is 60 seconds. This value can be changed at three different levels. Each level is effective for a specific scope of queries. You may have experienced Microsoft Access query timeout. This often happens to Change query timeout for a pre-built query. Change query timeout for raw SQL queries embedded in VBA code. Change query timeout in Registry. 1. Change query timeout for a pre-built query. Quite a few types of queries can be pre-built in Access in query Design View or hand-code SQL in SQL view. After a query is created, a default query timeout value (60 seconds) is assigned to the query. To change this value, we use Northwind database as the example. Follow these steps: Open the Access database and right click the query Employee Sales by Country. Click Design View in the drop down menu. In the Design View window, click View icon in top left corner. And then select SQL View in the drop down. When the SQL View is opened, click View in the menu bar across the top. And then select Properties in the drop down. In ODBC Timeout field, type in a new value. You can use the ODBCTimeout property to specify the number of seconds Microsoft Access waits before a time-out error occurs when a query is run on an Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) database. By setting this property to zero (0), no time-out will occur. For example, 120 will make this query to timeout in 120 seconds if it does not complete after runs for 120 seconds. Close the window and save the query. 2. Change query timeout for raw SQL queries embedded in VBA code. Sometimes, you write raw SQL queries in VBA code and you want to control timeout value for a specific query or a bunch of queries. You can do it in code editor by using either ADO or DAO Database object. For ADO, use this code to change timeout value: Dim objDB as Database Set objDB = CurrentDB objDB.QueryTimeout = 120 For DAO, use this code to change timeout valu
