for non-dbo schema Table Lookup Quick Fields Version 8 Updated July error 42s02 microsoft odbc excel driver 15, 2014 Subscribe Subscribed asked on July 15, 2014 I'm receiving the following error when attempting a Lookup
Microsoft Odbc Sql Server Driver Sql Server Invalid Object Name (#208)
in Quick Fields (8.3.0.413) against a SQL Server table that is not part of the "dbo" schema. I'm using a System DSN to manage the connection to the [microsoft][sql server native client 10.0][sql server]invalid object name SQL Server. ERROR [42S02] [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Invalid object name 'ServiceRequest'.[Database=] [Method=ExecuteFirstResult] I'm able to configure the Lookup Criteria as I normally would, however the error occurs when the session attempts to perform each lookup during processing. I can also get the error to occur with the 'Test' link in the Lookup Criteria configuration. microsoft odbc sql server driver sql server invalid column name I'm able to work around the issue by defining a view in the "dbo" schema and executing the Lookup that way, however this seems like it shouldn't be necessary. 1 0 Post Link Answer APPROVED ANSWER replied on July 15, 2014 Thanks for reporting the issue. As a workaround, you can write a custom query to perform the lookup and just specify the schema name as part of the table, i.e. [schema].[table_name] 1 0 Post Link Replies Be the first to leave a reply . If you must use a temporary table it should bea global temporary table to allow you to reference it using the fullyqualified name of "tempdb.dbo.##GlobalTempTable". A standard temp tableis difficult http://microsoft.public.sqlserver.programming.narkive.com/1s1Nxchv/odbc-error-208-42s02-invalid-object-name to use as it is only accessible by the spid that createdit and the name is appended with a random number (e.g."#Test_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________000000022798";this is what was found in the tempdb..sysobjects table when I created astandard temporary table called "#Test" in another database).Regards,Steven KielkuckiMCSE, MCDBA, CCNAPost by RakkiHi ,I get the error ODBC error 208 (42S02) Invalid object name when Iexecute thisDue to the multiple conditions I had to use the temp table, Dependingon the conditions email is send for that group only.insert into #emp(emp, empname, group)select empid, emplyeename, groupnumfrom empEXEC Master..xp_sendmail@recipients = 'johnd',@query = 'SELECT * FROM #Emp where group=1',@subject = 'SQL Server Report',@message = 'The contents of Emp:',@attach_results = 'TRUE', @width = 250EXEC Master..xp_sendmail@recipients = 'johnd',@query = 'SELECT * FROM #Emp where group=2',@subject = 'SQL Server Report',@message = 'The contents of Emp:',@attach_results = 'TRUE', @width = 250--------I continue for all the groups.
