for PHP 1.1 on Windows Server 2003 with MSsql 2005 and PHP 5.3.1. I'm running a fairly simple stored sql error 5701 procedure on the database from php. Strange thing is that this has worked fine for a while, but suddenly stopped working; the php script times out after 60 seconds giving either a PHP executing timeout warning or a FastCGI error. If I run the same stored procedure, with the same parameters, from MS SQL Management Studio, it returns results within 5 seconds. A looked at SQL Profiler, but can't get any clues as to why the PHP script times out when executing exactly the same command. Simplified PHP Code: function connect(){ $servername = "Serveraddress,1433"; $connectionInfo = array("UID"=>"myUser", "PWD"=>"myPassword", "Database"=>"myDatabase"); $sqlconn = sqlsrv_connect($servername, $connectionInfo) or die("MsSQL connection failed."); define("CONNSTR", $sqlconn); } function query_executeProcedure($procedureName, $params=null, $type=SQLSRV_FETCH_ASSOC){ $query = "{CALL ".$procedureName."("; for ($p=0; $p < count($params); $p++){ if ($p < count($params)-1){ $query .= " ?,"; } else{ $query .= " ?"; } } $query .= ")}"; $res = sqlsrv_query( CONNSTR, $query, $params); while( $row = sqlsrv_fetch_array( $res, $type)){ $data[] = $row; } return $data; } It's the part: $res = sqlsrv_query( CONNSTR, $query, $params); which times out. If I run the following code in Management Studio: exec procedurename '20050101', '20060101' then everything runs just fine. Where does this come from? edit: this is the stored procedure where I'm testing it on; but it happens to others too... set ANSI_NULLS ON set QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[fetch_nvvr_afdeling] -- Add the parameters for the stored procedure here @begindate datetime = 20050101, @enddate datetime = 0 AS BEGIN -- SET NOCOUNT ON added to prevent extra result sets from -- interfering with SELECT statements. SET NOCOUNT ON; -- Insert statements for procedure here SELECT (CASE WHEN (vic.nvvr_groep is null) OR (vic.nvvr_groep = '') THEN ex.nvvr_groep ELSE vic.nvvr_groep END) COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_Cp1_CS_AS AS nvvr_groe
