If Add or Remove Programs doesn't work, I'd suggest Revo Uninstaller. TheShooter93, Aug 28, 2010 #4 jdemnyan1116 Joined: Mar 18, 2000 Messages: 842 Symantec has its own uninstaller. Add/Remove does hot remove all of it, believe me. Its stays everywhere. Go to their web site, look around for the removal tool or maybe someone here knows exactly where it is. I had to use it after using Add/Remove before installing Kaspersky. No other way will remove all of Symantic except their remover. jdemnyan1116, Aug 30, 2010 #5 TheOutcaste Joined: Aug 7, 2007 Messages: 9,028 The Norton Removal Tool is only for the consumer versions of Norton products. Solved Symantec Endpoint Server unable to log on, or reinstall Posted on 2008-10-09 Anti-Virus Apps 1 Verified Solution 1 Comment 3,420 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-09 We have been running Symantec Endpoint for the past 6 months with no problems whatsoever. I log onto it daily to check out the happenings on my network. Yesterday I did not log on, so today when I tried to log on, it froze and would not go any further than 1/4 of the log in bar. I then did some initial troubleshooting which included, restarting the server, checking services, and normal maintenance. At that point I decided to repair Symantec hoping that a repair would fix the problem, instead I received the following error. "Error 1921 Service Symantec Embedded Database (ASANYs_sem5) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privlidges to stop system services" I had this problem while logged under both the local administrator account and my Domain Admin account I use for server maintenance. Does anyone have any suggestions? My deep fear is that a virus is causing this problem.... 0 Question by:WilliamK99 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 2 Best Solution byCorewar Hi WilliamK99, Have you tried stopping the "Symantec Embedded Database" and "Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager" services before doing the repair?
