LiveUpdate could not retrieve the catalog file of available Symantec products and components. Error Message In log.liveupdate, sessions fail with LU1814 Cause If the Symantec AntiVirus (SAV) or Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client on the same computer is configured to retrieve its updates from an internal LiveUpdate server on the network, rather than Internet sources, it is possible that other Symantec products like Backup Exec are also trying to retrieve their updates from this same internal source. Check the log.liveupdate to see what source server is attempted in the Backup Exec sessions. Solution Configure the internal LiveUpdate Administration Utility 1.x (LUAU 1.x) server or LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x (LUA 2.x) server to also download and make available Backup Exec materials. For LUAU 1.x: Go to : Start > All Programs > Run LiveUpdate Administration Utility >Select language > in Symantec Product list, Add Backup Exec > click on button Retrieve . Then all updates will be downloaded, When Completed, Click ok , Go To the media server, in Backup Exec, go to Tools and run LiveUpdate. Terms of use for this information are found in Legal Notices.
