It's task scheduler failed a Scheduler error relating to s "unknown user name or bad password" (or words to that effect, depending where you look). There are numerous links which refer to it being a common bug relating to a corrupt credentials security-database in Vista Home Premium, but subsequently many people have suggested that it is in fact possible this Scheduler bug might arise in any version of Vista, but for some reason occurs more commonly in HP, that's allviewtopic.php?t=3441Therte's a link in there to an MSDN site the contents of which is now apparently hosted elsewhere, but I twice got 'we can't find that page' errors from MS, but it eventually it switched to the new locationhttps://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forum ... patibilityIf you dig around in there you can spot an actual admission from someone in MS (predumably fired later...) that there's a bug. New computers are added to the network with the understanding that they will be taken care of by the admins. Keeping an eye on these servers is a tedious, time-consuming process. Even with 5 minutes per server (to check the logs and other parameters), it may take an hour to make sure that everything is ok and no "red lights" are blinking on any of the servers. read more...
