basic; type mismatch; notes session Technote (FAQ) Question A variant does not contain an object Visual Basic agent, using Component Object Model (COM) interface, to create a domino designer NotesSession object fails with the following error: "Run-time error '13': Type mismatch" This error occurs when the CreateObject method is called. http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21230951 For example, the code below would result in the error when the second line is executed: Dim session As NotesSession Set session = CreateObject("Notes.NotesSession") Answer This error occurs if the product references in the Visual Basic project has Lotus Notes Automation Classes enabled. http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21216203 The error occurs because the Lotus Notes Automation Classes are used for OLE automation, not COM. The CreateObject method does not return a compatible type for a NotesSession object when using OLE automation. To avoid the issue, under the project references in Visual Basic (Tools -> References), uncheck Lotus Notes Automation Classes and make sure that Lotus Domino Objects is checked. I'm new to using Lists, so hopefully this is an easy one. The below type mismatch on code is a subset what I'm trying to do, but I have narrowed down the error to this line If num < iMin Then (if I comment out the if, then there is no error). I get the Type Mismatch error when I bring up the view that has button on the view. I tried to do the min as a function (new to Lotusscript functions too), but wasn't sure if that was part of the problem. Thanks in advance! Notes: Resolve "Type mismatch" error Published 05/03/2009 By Aleksander Nordgarden-Rødner I recently had a user call inn to report that whenever she tried to delete an invitation to a meeting, she got this error: The invitation in question would get an X beside it, and delete when she refreshed her screen. The solution is luckily simpler than the error message could lead us to believe; a simple change to the preferences is all that is needed: In the inbox, go to Tools, then Preferences Go to the Calendar & To Do tab, then to Autoprocess You'll see that the option for Automatic Inbox Management is blank. Choosing any of the two options solves the problem, Related Categories:Lotus Notes Tags:automatic inbox managementautoprocessinvitationtype mismatch Previous Post Unable to uninstall Internet Explorer 8 Next Post Windows XP SP3 blocks uninstall of software Be First to Comment Leave a Reply Cancel reply Chosen WordPress Theme by Compete Themes.
