Runtime Error 13 Type Mismatch Excel 2007
Access for Developers Question 0 Sign in to vote Hello Everybody, I have a MS/Access 2007 project (.ADE) which worked fine for a while on many computers under various OS versions (XP, Vista W7) with the MS/Access runtime. Since a few https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/181542 days it no longer works on some computers but it works on some others, including mine at home. I get the message "13 type mismatch" when it starts. The computers where it still works are running the same OS than before and than the ones where it now fails! I can't debug this because: i) in my development environment I can't reproduce the error and ii) if I execute the corresponding .ADP with the full MS/Access version on any computer where https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/7b46cf82-e1b1-4675-84cc-269b17876c82/13-type-mismatch-error-runtime-msaccess-2007?forum=accessdev the .ADE fails, then everything also works fine. The problem only occurs with the .ADE and the Access runtime on some computers. Furthermore, if I create the .ADE from the .ADP on a computer where the .ADE created at home fails, then the .ADE created locally works well on both computers (the one where I now create it and mine at home)! I suspect a problem with the libraries used, or with a specific MS/Office update at home, but in fact I have no idea and, after hours and hours of unsuccessful research, I still have no solution (except to generate the .ADE on each computer, which is not really possible). Just a precision : I use no DAO recordset, only ADODB ones to access SQL Server 2005 SP4 DB, and they are all qualified by ADODB. Can somebody help me please? Thank you. I seem to recall that some of its possible causes are explained well by the error description, but that others are totally counter-intuitive when considering what the error message is telling you. First thing to consider

This is actually my first time ever writing VBA and I've come to a problem which I simply can't get my head around how to fix. I've searched and tried multiple things but still the same time error 13 problem despite anything I try. I'm simply opening a new recordset, populating it with values from another table using SQL, retrieving the values from the recordset, then setting the caption on some labels on my form. My code: Dim oconStudents As ADODB.Connection Dim orsStudents As ADODB.Recordset Dim strStudentsSQL As String Set oconStudents = CurrentProject.AccessConnection Set orsStudents = New ADODB.Recordset Set strGetCustIDSQL = _ "SELECT [CustomerID] FROM [Students Classes] WHERE [Class ID] = " & _ Me.txtClassID.Value & ";" orsStudents.Open strGetCustIDSQL, oconStudents, adOpenForwardOnly, _ adLockReadOnly, adCmdTable With orsStudents If Not orsStudents.EOF Then lblStudent1.Caption = orsStudents.Fields.Item(0) orsStudents.MoveNext End If End With I run this and I get a runtime error 13 with this line: Set strGetCustIDSQL = _ "SELECT [CustomerID] FROM [Students Classes] WHERE [Class ID] = " & _ Me.txtClassID.Value & ";" I can't for the life of me figure out why. I run the SQL in a query and it returns my values for me properly. I've changed the adCmdTable to adCmdText and tried adding "#" symbols as well as a host of other characters around the Me.txtClassID.Value section of the SQL string. Hovering over the SQL string,
