The conversion fails every time at 98% and says " An https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/262000-p2v-converter-error error occurred during reconfiguration". I have googled it to death and it seems W7 has a seperate boot partition that VMware wants to have a driver letter, so i did that...still nothing. I have the settings in the wizard not turn off the networking, rename the machine and file, using recommended amt of RAM...i dont know what else to look for. Im unable to using the local machine that i am converting to store hte file, plenty of room @ 223GB, only takes about 80GB for hte file. This is my first trip to the rodeo with this stuff and it isnt going as smooth as advertised. *oh and i tried to do the "configure machine" option on the VM file but it immediately fails with the same error. It seems you do still have to assign a drive letter to the boot volume fwiw. I have had this happen as well. You can try to do a "chkdsk /F /R" on that server, restart it and try the conversion again. Hope this helps! Alb 0 Ghost Chili OP _Justin_ Sep 27, 2012 at 12:38 UTC I would double-check your permissions and make sure that you have AV disabled on the server that you are converting. 0 Ghost Chili OP Helpful Post _Justin_ Sep 27, 2012 at 12:46 UTC One other thing worth looking at: is the virtual machine appearing in your inventory? If so, all of the files may have gotten converted and you may just need to run a Configure task on the VM through the Converter Client. 0 Jalapeno OP Best Answer Partha Sep 28, 2012 at 6:13 UTC Hi Guys, This issue has been resolved, now P2V conversion is completed successfully. Solution for this kind scenario: If you are converting physical machine to virtual, there are couple of things needs to check 1: Before converting a physical machine to virtual ,you should check source & destination processor, memory availability 2: Che
