Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes store? if you don't authorize this computer *many* items will be removed from the iPod. So I click to authorize and get this message; We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-42408). There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later. ? I don't know why it's suddenly doing this as it was working fine last week when I last updated the iPod. Deleted user 10 April 2010 17:43:47 Symptoms After updating to iTunes 9.0.3, when you try to download an item from the iTunes Store or authenticate purchases, you may see an alert stating "Error 42408" or "Error 42404." Products Affected iTunes Store, iTunes 9 Resolution Update to the latest version of iTunes. iTunes 9.1 and later should resolve this issue Deleted user 10 April 2010 17:44:46 Failing that, try this. Gurgy 12 Apr 2010 17:59:18 2,788 posts Seen 3 minutes ago Registered 15 years ago Sorry to but in, but... I've pre-ordered an album on iTunes via my iPhone but can't seem to actually download it now that the album has been released. It appears in my pre-order history both on the iPhone and PC iTunes but all that lets me do is cancel my pre-order. I have my iTunes settings set to automatically download pre-order items but it's not doing it (on either PC or phone.) The pre-order price was £7.99 and the album is now on iTunes at £15.99 so I am beginning to believe it was a pricing error and they just don't want to let me have it for £7.99. The "Check for available downloads" option says there's nothing to download. Any ideas ? Deleted user 12 April 2010 18:09:11 Email Apple with the order reference number that would've appeared in your receipt explaining what's happened and they'll sort you out. I had a proble with a download recently and, as long as you only do it very rarely, they are very helpful.
