When I try to buy/install an app from the App Store, I get small red unknown error text under my Apple ID that says "An unknown error has occurred". Clicking the "Store" menu, it looks like I'm signed in. (It gives me "Sign Out" and "View my account" with my apple ID showing afterwards as menu options) When I first launch iTunes, I get "An unknown error occurred (-50)." If I try to sign in from iTunes, I get "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (5002). There an unknown error was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later." I get the same error if I try to authenticate in any way with my Apple ID. (Authorize this computer for example) Thoughts? Are there any diagnostic tools I can run to give you a more comprehensive error log? Thanks in advance... My research so far indicated that it could be due to some check that Apple does based on the ethernet/MAC address to validate if it's an actual Apple device or not.. Any ideas? "iTunes Match". An unknown error occurred (5002) Written by Guillermo Garron Date: 2012-01-17 16:37:00 00:00 iTunes Match was released today in other 19 countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Guatemala, Honduras, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Venezuela. I live in Bolivia, and I immediately tried to get the service, but could not, I got this message: Could not purchase "iTunes Match". An unknown error occurred (5002) I've contacted via email the tech support at Apple, and in a matter of minutes I got the answer, it is because too many people is trying to subscribe to the service and their servers just can't manage the load. I'm not really buying that, but I'll just wait and try in few more hours again, as the person from Apple suggested me. My questions are: Are there so many people in Latin America trying to subscribe? Is Apple really unable to manage the load of the customers? I've found different ways to solve that, like, disabling the credit card and enabling it again, but that just did not work for me, and at my back can't see the intent of transaction from Apple. I also bought a song from iTunes just to be sure my card is working, and I got the song, and my bank saw the transaction. permalink If you enjoyed the article, please share it Contact All rights reserved.
