When backing up to my computer by pushing "Back Up Now" in iTunes, I get an error message: The iPhone 'X' cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-50) The last backup time does change, and it isn't saying that the backup failed, but it is odd that I get that error every time. I am telling it to not backup any of the apps, because I don't want all that dead space on my laptop. Considering this occurs to you at the point where iTunes begins transferring purchases, I wonder if it's trying to write files to a drive behaving like my drive. While I wish I had an answer for you I'm hoping someone has a solution that will get rid of that error for me as well. –user102483 Nov 27 '14 at 2:41 @user102483 are you on 8.1? –dwightk Nov 27 '14 at 14:39 add a comment| 7 Answers 7 active oldest votes up vote 4 down vote I got this error just now.
