various solutions to this problem. If you are unable to delete all emails from a given Outlook folder (not just certain emails), most likely that folder is locked because it is being used by a 3rd party application (for example, it may be scanned by an anti-virus program). Restarting Windows should fix it. If you are unable to delete only some emails (while others get deleted just fine), then your Outlook data file might be corrupted. If you are using Outlook 2003 or 2007, you can check it for errors using the Outlook Detect & Repair / Diagnostics tool available from the Outlook Help menu. Unfortunately, Microsoft removed the Inbox Repair tool from Outlook 2010. IMAP Clients Question 0 Sign in to vote Hello, I have two E-mail messages stuck in an outlook unknown error 0x800ccc97 Inbox that I cannot delete. When I attempt to delete the messages I receive a pop-up box saying "Unknown Error", when I open the messages I receive "Could not open one https://www.outlook-apps.com/unable-to-delete-emails-outlook/ or more attachments" error message. The message will open but does not show any attachments. There is an attachment icon next the to message when its listed in the inbox. The mailbox is held on an Exchange 2003 server and the client I'm using is Outlook 2003. I've already trawled through the Microsoft's support site and I have been https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/17aced13-bee9-4e82-8856-aa71b555a70d/unable-to-delete-two-messages-unknown-error-can-anyone-help?forum=exchangesvrclientslegacy unable to find anything relevant. Don't know if its relevant, but the mail account belongs to the administrator and I've given myself full access to the mailbox. I'm opening the mailbox through the additional mailbox feature. I'd be grateful if anyone could provide any assistance, before I stump up hard earned cash and contact MS Support. Thank you. It exists some tools to repair Exchange Database. You should try it too. Did you try to delete them via another outlook client (on another PC) ? Did you try to move this mail in another folder and delete this folder (MAJ+DEL) Last solution I'm thinking is to export your mailbox in a PST file (or a csv) and import it in a new clean mailbox. Is this your computer? Are you an administrator? –user142485 Aug 10 '12 at 15:03 Is this a pst file or ost? It's a bug and I doubt anyone's even going to pay attention to it. share|improve this answer answered Jul 13 '15 at 13:13 experiencedGuest 312 I use Outlook daily, move emails between folders daily, I have never in the last 5 years received this message. –Ramhound Jul 13 '15 at 14:32 add a co
