When I ftp xx.xxx.xxx.xxx 25, it gives me the above connection error. I'm working on an xp and win95. Both machines give the same error message. There are other machines at work that can dial in ok to port 25. the default ftp server is sco, port 25 is a win2000 machine. unknown error number I can telnet to sco and then ftp to port 25 with no problem. But I would like to be able to ftp directly to 25 just like some of other machines. Is there anything I need to do on the sco box??? I'd bet on it being the FTP client you are trying to use and you might try a different FTP client program on your XP or w95 box. 0 LVL 61 Overall: Level 61 Unix OS 35 Message Active today Expert Comment by:gheist2004-01-02 FTP uses two connections, redirecting only one port will lead you to big probl

I typed in ftp>open 192.xxx.x.xxx (my IP address). I got an error message: connect :Unknown error number. Even with the firewall and Kaspersky disabled, the problem continues.I then installed the Filezilla client (not the Server), but still could not connect.I have looked over the computer to make sure all ftp options were checked. This included checking the “ftp” in the Internet Information Services under Window Components. (I do note that under Administrative Tools, the ISS does not show up).Is there anywhere else in the computer that could be causing the problem or an option that I should investigate?Help is appreciated. You'll only get a response if you have a FTP server running on the target machine. _________________### BEGIN SIGNATURE BLOCK ###No support requests per PM!
