new 2010 environment. When my colleague tries to open an Access Database, labeled "2011 Daily Text Orders" a window pops up. Window title is Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications. Window message is "an error occurred while loading 'Report_Lables (blank) DT mailing label'. Do you want to continue loading the project? I click yes and another window pops up. Same window title as above, with message "Invalid procedure call or argument." I click ok and it opens the "VBA editor" (not sure about technical name) for 2011 Daily Text Orders [break] (this is the window's title) I could try to explain more now, but I wouldn't know what I'm saying or what's important. I have read some other threads, mainly a thread by Sandy McManamon who seemed to have a similar problem. A response from Dirk Goldgar suggested she (Sandy) open the VBA editor, go to Tools>References and search for any references marked "missing", then check and un-check some references. I did this, but it didn't work..... any advice? I would gladl

Please read my post carefully. I know the users below were genuinely trying to assist, but trust me, http://www.fmsinc.com/free/NewTips/NET/NETtip18.asp I ALREADY KNOW HOW TO FIX THE CAUSES OF THE ERROR. The purpose of this thread is NOT to fix the causes, but to manage the ORIGINAL ACCESS error. I have a database that is being opened programmatically with VBA visual basic in an Access.Application object During the opening process, an error is fired, apparently by Access or DAO. Quote: An error occurred while loading ‘Form_... Do you want to continue loading the project? Yes | No |Help I cannot break into the code and appear unable to capture an error number from it. If you answer NO, it just keeps firing until you click YES. After you click YES, it does finally fire a VBA error which my error handler does pick visual basic for up: First I get: Quote: 29070 – Your Microsoft Access database or project contains a missing or broken reference to the file ‘MSCAL.OCX’ version 7.0 Then I get: Quote: 29063 – The Visual Basic for Applications project in the database is corrupt. I have investigated this in more detail and apparently there is some real problem with the VBA module associated with the form mentioned in the original error. I did some diagnostics to confirm this and am satisfied with my understanding of that. If it were in my purview, I could very easily fix the problem with the module (and actually already have fixed it) and all these errors go away. HOWEVER, (and this is what may seem odd to some here), it is not my purview to perform that service! I am not concerned about what I learned to confirm there is a problem with the module. My code is only opening the database to capture a few specific properties. Since I am not the “owner” of to DB, it is not necessarily my place to perform any edits or make any changes. My purpose is only to capture these few OTHER attributes and report the findings. And yes, now that I have discovered the risk/opportunity to report back regarding possible Module corruption, I will add that to the other attributes I cheeck. but still it remains, not the purpose of the tool to perform any remediation or edits or repair.

I have printed it for others to read, especially those skeptical on the powers of Access and its capabilities. Darren D. Visual Inheritance and the WinForms Designer Provided by: Dave Juth, Senior Systems Architect Using visual inheritance in Visual Studio .NET is a boon to object oriented development, but there are some pitfalls to keep in mind. One common problem is illustrated with a template design pattern, in which the base form references an object it defines that is instantiated in a derived form. For example, let’s say you have a base form called BaseForm and a derived form called DerivedForm. BaseForm defines a protected member for your application’s CachedData object: C#:
