Vpn Error 806
threads Remove From My Forums Answered by: RRAS VPN disconnects vpn error 807 with error 20227 Windows Server > Network Infrastructure Servers Question 0 Sign in to vote vpn error 800 Hello, I have had many issues with my RRAS VPN server on Windows Server 2008 R2. My laptop is running Windows 7, and have trouble https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/824864 successfully connecting to VPN. Generally, when I attempt to connect it shows "verifying username and password" and then "registering computer on the network" and "applying settings". I am given an IP address on the VPN IP pool. On the network list it shows "VPN Network (identifying)" and it sits there for https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/236eab50-0782-4ff7-bc28-5329c41f1136/rras-vpn-disconnects-with-error-20227?forum=winserverNIS awhile. It should change to be my domain name, but doesn't. It then disconnects and in Event Viewer it shows error 20227. The events in 20227 shows: CoId={624A732D-B263-4E7B-A20F-B284CB0903D0}: The user COOPER\Ken dialed a connection named Test VPN which has failed. The error code returned on failure is 0. I have also received error 827. I have followed many troubleshooting steps (rebooting RRAS server, reconfiguring server, disabled ipv6, etc). I would say 50% of the time it connects, and the other 50 it disconnects. And the only solution is to reboot the RRAS service, and try again. Is there any thing I am missing? I just want the VPN server to work problem free, and not there yet. I appreciate any assistance you can provide. I get this error (in Event Viewer's Application logs from RasClient): The user SYSTEM dialed error code 0 a connection named Virtual Private Network which has failed. The error code returned on failure is 628. The current VPN type setup (Properties -> Security -> Type of VPN) uses L2TP/IPSec with a pre-shared key. When I set the Security to automatic (which used to also work before), I see this error instead: The user SYSTEM dialed a connection named Virtual Private Network which has failed. The error code returned on failure is 720. In the System log, additionally, there is (from RasSstp): The initial Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol request could not be successfully sent to the server. This can be due to network connectivity issues or certificate (trust) issues. The detailed error message is provided below. Correct the problem and try again. The remote computer refused the network connection. I tried tracing the RAS layer using: netsh ras set tracing * enable ...I then attempt the connection again... netsh ras set tracing * disable The logs contained a single file which was the most helpful at telling me there was a problem, EXPLORER_RASAPI32.LOG...but it wasn't helpful at telling me exactly what that problem was as far as I can tell: [10236] 07-22 00:09:01:496: WaitForDialMachineEvent: Unblock i=1, h
