file, but it had no effect. I disabled my antivirus and booted into diagnostic boot (with all 3rd party processes disabled, but all MS services enabled). Still, no luck. I've used the Installer Cleanup tool to remove all Windows Live products. I also tried installing the Windows Live ID Sign-In Assistant manually. The WLE2011 installer appears to remove that, then re-install it, which then gives the error message. What should I try next?Drew Green MCSA, CCENT, Security+, Network+, A+ Monday, October 11, 2010 4:49 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote I've seemed to have solved my own problem. I looked a little further into the issue and actually went to the SysWow64 folder to find regsvr32.exe, and it was not there. It appears something renamed it to regsvr32.exe.DEL. I had a virus on my machine a few months back, so perhaps that's what did it. Odd, though, since the regsvr32.exe file was present in the System32 folder. I then used the Installer Cleanup Utility to remove all Windows Live programs, then re-installed WLE. After doing that, Writer would open the splash screen, but then close. I then ran a repair install of WLE, and that seems to have fixed my problem.Drew Green MCSE:S, MCSA:S, CCENT, Secur

I tried both the 2011 and 2012 versions of the program. However, every time http://www.computing.net/answers/windows-7/windows-live-essential-2011-kb2434419-problem/3737.html it finishes downloading and installing, a windows pops up telling me that it couldn't install the specified programs (Mail and Movie Maker) because another program is preventing it from working (Error Code:0x80070643). The only problem with windows live this is that I have disabled all antivirus (Kaspersky AntiVirus) and Windows Firewall itself. I will not disable all startup programs because some of them are for my CPU and motherboard to work properly. I did disable some though, and it has not done anything. Windows is not of any help because they just say to uninstall my antivirus and install Windows Security Essentials which I do not want. Help for this windows live essentials would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
