Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement TurboSteve Thread Starter Joined: Jan 29, 2005 Messages: 15 Hello all. I sometimes run into a problem with my Outlook Express where i will hit the send/receive button and the dialog box will flash quickly and disappear. It seems that the only way i can fix it is to restart the computer. Sometimes (and i think this is related) when i type up and email and hit the send button, a box pops up and says "an error has occurred. The message could not be sent. Any ideas? BY the way, i'm using Windows 98 and Outlook Express 6 i believe. If you have more than one Identity, check each Identity to ensure this process has been disabled. If there are messages in the Inbox you want to keep, move them to folders of your own creation in Outlook Express. Keep the Inbox empty. Close all windows. Open Outlook Express File > Work Offline Click on the Local Folders folder File > Folder > Compact All Folders Walk away from the computer until this process is complete. Avoid starting this process if the possibility of a power outage is imminent such as a thunderstorm in progress. Should the compaction process ever be interrupted, restart it before accessing any folders and allow it to finish. If that does
