Searching the web, I found many people with the same problem with all sorts http://superuser.com/questions/688189/windows-update-results-in-8024afff-error of possible fixes, but none of them worked. All the other updates I tried work fine, just the IE 10 and IE 11 updates are failing. I have enough disk space, a good internet connection, and Windows has very little installed software and it is just common software. Several antivirus scans didn't find any virus or spyware. So what is error 8024AFFF and how do I fix it? windows-7 internet-explorer windows-update share|improve this question edited Dec 14 '13 at 6:07 karel 6,82992126 asked Dec 13 '13 at 23:30 higuita 3851211 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote Ok, solved my problem... For me, it was some disabled service... a long time ago, i disable some (about 6) useless services that i don't use (like UPNP, webclient and several others). While debuging this i went to services and noted those disable services, so i reset then all to "manual" and tried again. This time it worked fine. So there is a service that is required to upgrade the IE, but not the rest of the system. Anyway, if someone else have this error

Run the SURT program, the sfc scan, and post the logs that are requested in the instructions found here: Windows Update Posting Instructions Hopefully then you get a better response. error when attempting to update: Vista KB932246 and Media Format 11 SDK KB929399 (These updates are on a new computer with Vista Home Premium purchased about one month ago.) (If the Media Format 11 SKD refers to the Sonic Driver issue, I already 'fixed' that by following instructions at a Dell computer site. I no longer receive an error message re an incompatibility with the Vista and the Sonic Driver.) Dave Horne, Mar 14, 2007 #1 Advertisements Dave Horne Guest Well, this is getting strange. Instead of updating via the Windows Update on my computer, I went to MS's site and updated one of the two updates there. I clearly see 'Successful' on my computer. If I go to use Windows Update on my computer I continue to be told that KB932246 needs to be updated. There is a very slight difference in my list for these 'two' updates which really are the same. One states ... Update for Windows (KB932246) ... successful ...and the other states: Update for Windows Vista (KB932246) ... Failed I'll wait for Windows to figure this out.
