Or, better said, I guess, it's just not as simple and intuitive as log windows update it has been in previous versions of Windows. Microsoft chose to change how Windows Update collects and stores information about updates applied in Windows 10. Early on in the Windows 10 development process, during first run of the Technical Preview program, a lot of us noticed the changes, but hoped that Microsoft would improve the process over time. Windows 10 was still a beta product, after all, and the software company had months to go before official release. So, Microsoft was given a pass for the time being. The Windows Update Agent for Windows 10 now uses Event Tracing for Windows (ETW) to generate its diagnostic logs.
