Try a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release. Download the Firefox installer and save the file to the desktophttps://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software. Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions. Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox insta

While it was installed, I found that I would receive the following error: "Firefox can't find the file at jar:file:///C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/chrome/en-US.jar!/locale/browser-region/region.properties[entry].", where "[entry]" is the text entered into the search bar. Upon the removal of the Ask.com toolbar, I found that I was still unable to use the "I'm Feeling Lucky" search function of the Firefox's URL bar. Whenever I would try to search for a site without using the ".com" at the end, or whenever I type in a single word, I would receive an error. For instance, if I type in "yahoo" wanting to be taken directly to yahoo.com, I receive "Firefox can't find the file at jar:file:///C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/chrome/

(Eg: default text editor) Perfom a ShellExecute from Firefox Addon yet xml parsing error none of these solutions have worked for me and I feel the problem may be deeper than I originally thought. Essentially I am trying to launch a .jar executable with a Mozilla add-on extension. My code looks like the following: var buttons = require('sdk/ui/button/action'); var button = buttons.ActionButton({ id: "execute-jar", label: "Download Report", icon: { "16": "./icon-16.png", "32": "./icon-32.png", "64": "./icon-64.png" }, onClick: handleClick }); function handleClick(state) { // try { // var file = Services.dirsvc.get("Desk", Ci.nsIFile); // file.append("C:\Users\QaziWa\DownloadReportPPE.jar"); // file.launch(); // } // catch (ex) { // console.error("failure"); // Failed to launch because e.g. the OS returned an error // or the file does not exist, // or this function is simply not implemented for a particular platform. // } let {Cc, Ci} = require('chrome'); var file = Cc["@mozilla.org/file/local;1"].createInstance(Ci.nsILocalFile); file.initWithPath("C:\Users\QaziWa\DownloadReportPPE.jar"); console.log(file); if(file.exists()){ file.reveal(); file.launch(); } else { console.log('Failed.'); } } For some odd reason my .jar file is not detected and I can't understand why. I was hoping someone could offer any input as to why this may be. javascript firefox-addon firefox-addon-sdk mozilla jpm share|improve this question edited Sep 9 '1
