On Monday 17 January 2005, 06:45 by jgraham Just out of interest, why do people want XHTML so badly? What xml parsing are you planning to do with XHTML that you can't do in HTML4? Are you planning to use mixed namespaces (will Nvu even support opening an XHTML document with embedded MathML, for example?) Are you planning to serve documents as application/xhtml+xml or just as malformed text/html? Daniel: Assuming one is able to switch the doctype of an existing document, will Nvu automagically change things like inline scripts embedded in SGML comments, which won't work if a document is sent as application/xhtml+xml? I'm not xml parsing error saying XHTML in Nvu is a bad thing, I'm just wondering if people who want it need it for buzzword compliance or if they're planning to do actual XMLish things with it. 7. Being able to mix XUL/SVG etc. is priceless - kinda like OLE or OPENDOC. SVG is a big one for this, I can't wait till they port cairo-svg to windows firefox/mozilla. Secondly, XSLT is priceless. Being able to transcode my data allows for way greater flexability in site layout/design. In fact, being proper xml, it makes it easy to parse in various
