2005 9,232 Posts Been struggling with getting Bluetooth working on my laptop for the past few days. I figured out that Motioninjoy had overwritten the driver for my laptop's bluetooth adapter so I just uninstalled https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1235342 it. Now Windows keeps attempting to install the proper bluetooth driver and fails because it just spits out an Access Is Denied error: This is basically as far as I've gotten, because Google reveals that I http://support.anywheremap.net/idx/17/176/Troubleshooting__Errors/article/Bluetooth_Access_is_Denied.html am the only person with this specific problem in existance. Everything else relates to flash drives and printers, which I HAVE tried the fix instructions for - no go. You mentioned in your step by step that the files do not need to be encrypted. Unfortunately, the option to decrypt the files on the extraction never appeared when I tried to extract the files (my wife downloaded 3 copies of the zip and none of the how to fix extractions offered the un-encrypt option). I solved this by right clicking on the drivers folder and each of the files inside the driver folder (besides the pdf) and selecting ‘Unblock’ on the general tab, and de-selecting the ‘Encrypt contents to secure data’ option under the Advanced option of the general tab. Turn UAC off and make sure you have administrator access Reply 26th December 2012 Post #3 Lyokanthrope I will huff and puff and FLIP YOUR FUCKING TABLES October 2005 9,232 Posts There is no encryption on any of the files. I am certain I have administrator access and UAC is off. Reply 26th December 2012 Post #4 djjkxbox360 Gold Member March 2007 4,426 Posts Try installing the driver using the hidden admin account (this account has complete access to every file), instructions to enable it are here http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...windows-vista/ Reply 27th December 2012 Post #5 Lyokanthrope I will huff and puff and FLIP YOUR FUCKING TABLES October 2005 9,232 Posts No change. I don't think this is a permissions error related to my account honestly..something got fucked within Windows somewhere..
