Your SQL file is trying to create a new database (with a line near the top like CREATE DATABASE `socialnew`... as you see in the error message). The likely solution is to not create the database from your script. You can either edit the .sql file manually and remove the lines starting with CREATE DATABASE `socialnew`... and USE `socialnew`;, or, if your phpMyAdmin is pretty up-to-date, you could do the export again from your XAMPP and make sure the checkbox is not selected for "Add CREATE DATABASE / USE statement". Then when

Now when access denied I try to import that .sql dump file, I get the error mentioned in the title and it does not load all the other databases. How can I get around this so phymyadmin will allow me to import the whole file, or is there a way I could "remove" information_schema from the sql dump Thanks sql phpmyadmin information-schema share|improve this question asked Jan 28 '11 at 4:58 JonYork 48531227 closed as off topic by tstenner, bensiu, Ryan Bigg, C-Pound Guru, onof access denied for Oct 28 '12 at 22:42 Questions on Stack Overflow are expected to relate to programming within the scope defined by the community. It's just a text file of sequential queries to run. –Dan Grossman Jan 28 '11 at 4:59 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 8 down vote accepted As Dan Grossman said: To "remove" information_schema from the dump, open the file in notepad and delete those lines. How large is the DB? Restoring a backup is best done via SSH. If you upload the .sql file to your account, for instance to have your host restore it for you, it might go something like this: You'd upload the file to /home/ashaccount/dbbackup/yourfile.sql via File Manager in cPanel or FTP client. The command to restore that file: mysql -u ashaccount_ashaccount -p ashaccount_joomlasite < /home/ashaccount/dbbackup/yourfile.sql If you're unsure here you might just get the file to the account and then contact your host.
