Permission Java.net.socketpermission Connect Resolve
all, I was trying to install musicbrainz database (following this guide, hat tip access denied ( java.net.socketpermission resolve ) zufallshed) inside a virtualbox jail. Everything went fine until I tried to use the virtual machine (as recommended by guide above, following access denied java net socketpermission 127.0.0.1 connect resolve musicbrainz instructions). As the console is run by a vnc wiever app for java, it was blocked by recent enhanced security criteria by java. I tried adding the jail musicbrainz ip (192.168.1.9 in my case, as well as 192.168.1.9:3389) to the java console exception list

Re: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission 127.0.0.1:1099 connect, resolve) EJP Jun 24, 2011 9:40 AM (in response to gimbal2) No. This is a Java security sandbox problem. Any time you get "access denied" with a named permission, you are runing under the control of a SecurityManager and you need to grant yourself that permission. In this case, java.net.SocketPermission 127.0.0.1:1099 connect, resolve. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 3. Re: access denied (java.net.SocketP
