dot com? That file is generated during the installation or uninstallation process, so you may have more than one. If you don't know which one is, you can delete those files and then run the installer. Best regards, David. frank_gerritsma 2013-12-27 15:47:07 UTC #3 hi David, Thx for your repy.I do not

have access to that server anymore. But should the standard installation not just work? The whole point of using Bitnami is that I do not have to worry about log files and the like. cheersFrank beltran 2013-12-28 19:35:14 UTC #4 The database password is the following: If you are using Bitnami Cloud Hosting, the password is the same that you set during the server configuration. If you did not set any password you can check the autogenerated password from the admin panel. If you are using an Amazon or Azure cloud image, the default password is "bitnami" If you are using the native installer, the database password is the same that you set during the installation. I hope it helps. When I restarted ubuntu, I opened openerp and tried to login but didn't find the databases I've created before and it took me to the (Database Management) page in order to create a new database as if it were my first time. I tried to make a duplicate of an existing database as a workaround, but when I wrote http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21494316/cant-see-my-databases-in-openerp the old database name, I got this message: ProgrammingError: permission denied to copy database "test" I tried to access postgres using pgadmin and I succeeded and could access all the databases from the pgadmin. postgresql ubuntu openerp share|improve this question edited Feb 1 '14 at 5:30 ekad 9,755112736 asked Feb 1 '14 at 5:07 user3259659 2216 Have you checked the database permission/owner? –Atul Arvind Feb 1 '14 at 5:51 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote You need to give the access rights on particular database for particular openerp user. First Create the OpenERP user that will own and run the application sudo adduser --system --home=/opt/openerp --group openerp Then Next, First change to the postgres user so we have the necessary privileges to configure the database. sudo su - postgres Now create a new database user. This is so OpenERP has access rights to connect to PostgreSQL and to create and drop databases. Remember what your choice of password is here; you will need it later on: createuser --createdb --username postgres --no-createrole --no-superuser --pwprompt openerp Enter password for new role: ******** Enter it again: ******** Finally exit from the postgres user account: exit Here is source link http://www.theopensource
