a minute: Sign up Error #1044 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' to database 'information_schema' [closed] up vote 8 down vote favorite Alright, so here is the scenario I performed a full backup on my mysql server today. Now when I try to import that .sql dump file, I get the error mentioned in the title and it does not load all #1044 - access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' to database 'information_schema' the other databases. Your SQL file is trying to create a new database (with a line near the top like CREATE DATABASE `socialnew`... as you see in the error message). The likely solution is to not create the database from your script. You can either edit the .sql file manually and remove the lines starting with CREATE DATABASE `socialnew`... and USE `socialnew`;, or, if your phpMyAdmin is pretty up-to-date,
