to be doing this with the Deploy Studio software packageOn a completely fresh install of Mountail Lion with Mountain Lion Server tftp access violation mac I have been using the documentation provided on the DS website set up the Mac Server, and installed and run Deploy Studio Assistant to create a netboot set.To put it shortly at this point tftp error code 2 access violation cisco it won't netboot as it should. With the netinstall service running on the server, the first red flag is that when selecting the startup disk on the client mac, the netboot image doesnt show up. Even if I set the startup using the bless command it wont boot from the network. After examing the logs on the server I can see that the server is acknowledging the bsdp requests and

returning a list. This exchange reccurs for a number of repeats and then the exchange ends abruptly and the client boots to the local OS. Running through some of the troubleshooting information on the internet I was led to test the tftp connection. From the client I ran tftp to the ip of the server and attempted executing get /Library/Netboot/.../booter. This returns "Error code 512: Access Violation."My instinct and the apparent instinct of the internet is that this is a permissions problem. So to correct this, starting with the file 'booter' and working my way up the folder tree, set gradually higher levels of permissions until now I am at the point where permissions is 777 all the way up to the folder tree, and I am continuing to get the same error.Next, thinking that maybe this is really some oddball network issue related to my org that I dont understand, I set up a private network with just my machine and a client, enabling dhcp from the mac. Even this got me the Error Code 512: Access Violation message when running the tftp test, and just in case I also just went ahead and tried to netboot it and got the same conversation in the log.In th

I've got a WRTF54G v8 using OSX 10.6 (firewall disabled) I did a 30/30/30 reset, then flashed the killer through the web gui access violation and waited two minutes. Ping results in ttl:64 so it appears to be responding. Terminal: cd Desktop/dd-wrt/firmware tftp -e 192.168.1.1 tftp> put dd-wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin Error code 512: Access violation I tried power cycling the router, but to no avail. I'm not sure if this is an issue with my computer or the router itself. I do believe I've followed all 2 access violation of the instructions to a tee, yet I can't seem to find any mention of this particular error anywhere. Any ideas? Edit: As it turns out; the original stock Linksys firmware was still on there and working just fine; hence the access violation. I did everything again, and after flashing the killer; same thing. I could still navigate to and ping my router just like nothing had changed (minus the settings being reset). I wonder why this could be? I tried to flash the router, but no sucess. I do reset (unplug power, push reset, plug in power, wait 30 sec) and I see the management screen. I select the image vxworkskillerGv8-v3.bin and select Apply. I wait, wait, wait and nothing happens, except that the router returns to the IP that I configured. Note that when I do reset the router goes to the 192.168.1.1 address. After that, and doing or not doing the recycle, when I try to tftp the ddrt image to it it gives me Error 2: Access Violation. I reset the router and everything is as always.... Linksys firmware, but, of course, without configuration. I followed the http://dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php?title=How_To_Flash_the_WRT54Gv8 page. Any thoughts? Thanks. Ricardo 20 June, 2008 I've had the same issue, having followed How To Flash the WRT54Gv8. The router appears to still be listening on tcp/8080 (hitting it from the LAN side, wired), but it seems to want to give me an SSL certificate that Firefox says is a duplicate. Additionally, it still appears to pass traffic (i.e., act like a firewall). Have I brickified my router/AP? Anyone have any ideas? Cheers, -sth UPDATE 20 June, 2008: I was able to recover using the Recover from a Bad Flash article (thanks, DD-WRT community!), using only the directions at the top of the page (i.e., didn't have to engage in the Linksys/WRT-specific stuff). Apparently, my downfall was the use of Firefox (MacOS X 10.5.3, FF 2.0.0.14). After recovering the default Linksys firmware, I tried the How To Flash the WRT54Gv8 instructions again using Safari, and everything went as described. -sth Contents 1 RE: Flashing via TFTP 2 what now 3 RC5 to RC6.2 4 Firmware v8.0 and v8.2 5 Http/Https? [edit] RE: Flashing via TFTP I tried to follow the instructions regarding flashing from a MacOS platform, and got no where. I did a little research, and a free TFTP client did the trick. It was incredibly easy. simply enter the IP address of the router, select the firmware to flash, and click start. The shareware (nag screen before use) is called MacTFTP and can be found at http://www.mactechnologies.com/index.php?page=downloads. For other OS's, just do a google search. (ie Windows TFTP
