I tried deleting the ldb file, but it would not let me. The only thing that works is re-booting the server (Win Server 2003) Then everyone can ope the db again. It almost looks like when a workstation runs the application for the first time, this happens. Then we reboot the server and all is good, but can't confirm this. Back end 'file already in use' David Coombs asked Aug 23, 2011 | Replies (3) Hi all, I have a database which has been split. The back end is on a shared drive on the network and a copy of the front end is on the same drive but in a different directory. My front end is on my desktop. If another user opens the database before me, I am unable to access it and a message 'File already in use' appears. However if I access it first I have no problems. Is there any reason why it 'locks' me out?
