How To Change The Port Number Of Tomcat Server In Eclipse
Ubuntu 9.10. Since I generate my first lines of code I haven't seen the web. All the time when I try to run the program I get the following error: Several ports (8080, 8080) required by Tomcat v6.0 Server at localhost are already in use. The server may already be running in another process, or a system process may be using the port. To start this server you will need to stop the other process or change the port number(s). I have read a
How To Stop Port 8080 In Windows
lot about the way to change the ports for my tomcat (pass from the 8080 to 80) but it has been impossible. I read some forums where the way to solve this problem is going to the file that contents the server number for tomcat, which is a XML file, but when I open the folder there is not a xml file with the name. I already explored the port using sudo lsof -n -P -i :, start and shut-down tomcat but the mistake is still there. What can I do? Thanks a lot. eclipse tomcat6 ubuntu-9.10 share|improve this question edited Nov 10 '10 at 16:11 Rafe Kettler 40.5k12104123 asked Nov 10 '10 at 16:02 Daniel Tascón 70117 add a comment| 7 Answers 7 active oldest votes up vote 5 down vote accepted in your apache conf folder, open the httpd file and look for 8080 port. Change 8080 to any port you like. I believe you will find 8080 on two places. share|improve this answer answered Nov 10 '10 at 16:12 Maximus 1,39541937 Rafe Thanks a lot,I installed again APACHE 2. Port 80 Required By Tomcat V7.0 Server At Localhost Is Already In Use

The server may already be running in another process, or a system process may be using the port. To start this server you will need to stop the other process or change the port number(s)". I tried to list processes connected to this port using http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19965838/port-8080-is-already-in-use-and-no-process-using-8080-has-been-listed command: netstat -aon (I use Windows XP), but on the listing there is no process with PID = 8080. I also used: netstat -aon | find "8080", but it also didn't find anything. Can anyone help me? java eclipse tomcat share|improve this question asked Nov 13 '13 at 22:33 Kinga GarczyĆska 87115 1 You may have accidentially launched Tomcat twice. Only the first one can use the port. Others are denied in the way you see. –Thorbjørn Ravn Andersen Nov 13 '13 at 23:03 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 25 down vote accepted PID is the process ID - not the port number. You need to look for an entry with ":8080" at the end of the address/port part (the second column). Then you can look at the PID and use Task Manager to work out which process is involved... or run netstat -abn which will show the process names (but must be run under an administrator account). Having said that, I would expect the find "8080" to find it... Another thing to do is just visit http://localhost:8080 - on that port, chances are it's a web server of some description. share|improve this answer edited Nov 13 '13 at 22:44 answered Nov 13 '13 at 22:34 Jon Skeet 899k4866520
