I'm having problems. When workgroup security was not included with Access 2007, I created my own security. I essentially created a http://www.utteraccess.com/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t2010272.html logon Access application that is in no way protected. The only purpose of this form is to get the user ID and PWD and then pass it on to another Access application (intermediate) that will verify the authenticity, check that all of MyApp components are on the user's machine and download if necessary and then finally open MyApp. This intermediate already in Access application is database password protected. This password is never provided to any users. So obviously the intermediate Access application has to access the Logon table which stores the user ID and PWD in the logon Access application. Suddenly, I'm getting this Error 3045 which I didn't get before. In attempts to debug, I can see where in the intermediate Access application, the already in use link to the Logon table which is contained in the logon Access application is frozen, i.e. it can't be opened. Also, the line where the error occurs is a line of code where data from the linked Logon table is to be retrieved. Here's how the intermediate application is opened.CODE'Insert the logon information into the tablestrSQLINSERT = "INSERT INTO Logon_Table (USER_ID, USER_PWD, APPLICATION_NAME, LOGON_TYPE, SHOW_SETUP_PAGE) " & _"SELECT '" & Nz(Me.User_Name, "") & "', '" & Nz(Me.User_Password, "") & "', '" & Nz(Me.File_Name, "") & "', '" & LogonType & "', " & Nz(Me.Show_Setup_Page_Option, False)CurrentDb.Execute strSQLINSERT, dbFailOnError + dbSeeChanges'NOW OPEN UP THE INTERMEDIATE APPLICATION TO COMPLETE THE LOGON PROCESS. THIS FILE IS'DATABASE PASSWORD PROTECTED.Set acc = New Access.Applicationacc.Visible = TrueSet db = acc.DBEngine.OpenDatabase(FileName, False, False, ";PWD=#######")dbFlag = TrueDoEventsacc.OpenCurrentDatabase FileName, FalsePerhaps I can release the lock on the table which the Logon Application seems to have so that the intermediate application can successfully link to the Logon table. Also, I have tried to open the Logon application in non-exclusive mode, by opening it from Access and then when clicking the Open button, by clicki
