Go to settings-applications-manage applications and scroll down to market and clear authentication error android data then scroll down to google services framework and clear data then reboot you're phone and that's authentication error android update it enjoy. I could not remove my account from the phone, android said it was required authentication error android exchange when I tried to and that the only way to do it was to restore to factory defaults. I signed into another account in android market, it was the only way I could think to sign out of android market. Not only did it not work when I signed back into the original account but I recieved the same error while attempting to download from my alternative account. There are a few things you can try if you are not receiving email, but your email account is set-up correctly: For every account that is having this issue 1. Check Incoming server https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/48692 settings Open applications tray, select My Accounts Current account will be listed; tap on account having issue. Tap on Incoming server If Use secure connection is checked, uncheck it.however, if Use secure connection isunchecked when issue occurs, check it on. Save settings with OK button and and close application. re-open Email application from applications tray, Press Menu hard key and then tap on Refresh. Email should start appearing if corrected. If email account set-updoes not appear to be occuring, verify your email POP3/IMAP port, server and security requirements for incoming mail. You can check ourFAQ here for a settings chart for several common email providers for additional help on setting up your email account through manual set-up. 2. Retry with Wi-Fi OFF, if already off, retry with Wi-Fi ON. Some email providers and carriers have restrictions on connection through WiFi. 3. Authentication error on incoming or outgoing accounts: Check your account password settings within Incoming server settings for problems with incoming mail, within Outgoing server settings if you can't send email. Also retry receiving on Wi-Fi vs only 3G to see if there are any restrictions on the WiFi service you are using. 4.

The guy on the phone at Verizon told me I had to do a factory reset. I just dealt with the problem while away cause I didn't want to risk my Droid X (GB 4.5.596) not working after a factory reset - while I was on vacation. When I got back to NY the problem disappeared (cause I'm back in my "home area"?), then 2-3 days ago it resurfaced & I was not able to send email. It finally got to me & I started looking for a solution - WITHOUT having to call VZW. So an hour ago I found this at droidforum.com >> I downloaded the newest Android version, 4.5.596. I also have two different AOL email accounts. One is working fine
