Authentication Error Input/output Error Imap
Threaded Open this post in threaded view ♦ ♦ | Report Content as Inappropriate ♦ ♦ imapd: authentication error: Input/output error Hello, I am using Courier-Imap 4.5 with a Gentoo Linux 3.8.13 64-bit distribution. The system in question has RoundCube as a front-end for the client's mailboxes, OpenLDAP for authentication, and Postfix to send email. Frequently, users get timed out when attempting to access their mailboxes but on refresh their access is successful. When I look at the logs I get the following messages. It is important to note that the users did indeed type in the correct information that corresponds with their records in OpenLDAP. Any ideas on what this might be? Thank you. The POP3/IMAP server says "Temporary problem, please try again later" when a bad password is entered. authdaemond tries each of the configured authentication modules in turn, until either one accepts the login, or they have all rejected it (in which case the usual "Login failed" error is returned, and the user can try again). However, if one of these modules is unable to run because some resource is not available, then it gives a temporary failure response and no further modules are tried. The error is more clear in Plesk 12.5. Check this link for info on a possible fix, even if you're not using Gentoo and/or you're not upgrading but doing a fresh install. _________________/ Peter Top Profile Reply with quote fifo Post subject: PostPosted: Fri Sep 30, 2005 5:34 pm Offline Senior Member Joined: Thu Sep 29, 2005 9:52 pm Posts: 79 Website: http://www.hectorg.net Location: Miami, Florida Hey thanks that was the problem!!!
