If I try to start the pairing in Android, after some time it says "Coudn't pair with http://superuser.com/questions/739348/cant-pair-android-with-windows-7-via-bluetooth PC because of an incorrect PIN or passkey", but I didn't even type one. And when I try to pair starting on Windows 7, after I select my Android device, I get this window on Windows: But at the same time a popup opens on Android asking for a passkey (what should happen after I select the first option on Windows, I guess). I tried '0000' and '1234', without success. When I select the first option on Windows, right after it says "Adding this device to this computer failed... because of an authentication error". It doesn't even show a passkey. At the same time, pairing on Android is aborted. When I select the second option, the same thing happens. Whe I select the third option, Windows adds the phone, but only as a generic device. It does not appear as paired on Android, and I can't send files from Windows to Android. windows-7 android bluetooth share|improve this question edited Oct 23 '14 at 11:19 Robotnik 1,93021332 asked Apr 8 '14 at 23:21 Gutierrez PS 1115 Is transferring via the microSD car

The main difference is that these systems use different frequencies. Desktop computers often are not pre-prepared for Bluetooth-communication, since there are enough other possibilities: Wifi, and especially network cables authentication error (which are a lot faster). Laptops almost always can handle Bluetooth without doing anything special. Why use Bluetooth? I first had to find out how it worked, and at the moment this page is the result of my experiments. So until I didn't use it much myself. But I can imagine at least 1 situation in which a Bluetooth connection could come in handy. adding this device I now alway have to connect my mobile phone to the PC using a cable, and of course I can never find it. Also, the plug at the telephone side is very tiny. Adapters and devices So, on desktop computers you usually have to do something to enable it to communicate with Bluetooth devices. In almost all cases this implies that you have to plug a Bluetooth adapter in a USB port, and the adapter is both a Bluetooth receiver and transmitter. After some experimenting, it became clear to me that there are 2 kinds of Bluetooth adapters (and devices). One kind of adapter has been designed to communicate with one particular device. Other adapters can communicate with (almost) all devices. For example, I have a Logitech wireless headset with it's own adapter, and a headset for speech recognition and mobile phones, also with it's own adapter. Pairing The act of establishing a connection between 2 bluetooth devices (in this case between an adapter in a PC and a "normal" device) is called pairing. During the pairing process you can choose to make contact without exchanging a code, but that's no
